Love for The Game.

My husband loves lacrosse. When I say love, I mean looooooove. There is this sense of joy when he cradles the ball back and forth, or strings his stick. A sense of belonging and comfort when he is out on that field, it just works for him. I use to find that peace, comfort and joy when snuggled up at my grandparents house getting spoiled and loved on, but for him it is all in being on the field. When we moved back over to the states I was hopeful that this love would continue with us, although a bit nervous when Dallas became our home! To our blessing not even a month after arriving though he had a coaching position lined up for the upcomming season and was roaring to go! The day of his first practice, I will never forget the glowing I had in my heart watching him coach these boys... he has a magical way when it comes to teaching kids and every now and then when I get a glimpse of him in action, my heart melts and I remember how I fell in love with  him all over again. See, we met at a camp full of  kids and it was that mutual ground that started this very relationship! So once again my heart was beaming and I knew he had found his nitch here in our new home. I am sure the rest of the season will be documented on here as well as it starts to consume our life more and more! In the mean time here is a glimpse of practice one...

Gooo Panthers!

The Night Before Movember [Parody]

‘Twas the night before November, when all through the office
Not a face was clean shaven, not even the novice;
The developers were working and designers creating,
In hopes that tomorrow a razor be waiting;
The account managers were nestled all warm in their beds,
While visions of ‘stashes danced in their heads.
And Tom in his office and I at my desk,
Had just set in for a Monday mess;
When out in the cubes there arose such a laughter,
I sprang from my desk to see what the matter.
Away through the office I flew like a flash,
Tore through the doors to see the new ‘stash.
The shadow of hair that was starting to grow,
Gave the first impression of the soon to be ‘mo;
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a flash to the calendar of the month that had near,
When so lively and quick went little October,
I knew in a moment it must be Movember.
More rapid than eagles in the men came,
And whistled, and shouted, and called out their name;
“Now Tom! Now Brent! Now, Tombo and Randall!
On Chris! On Colin! On Dustin and Michael!
To the front of the office, straight on the wall!
Now grow away! Grow away! Grow away all!”
As dry leaves that before the winter fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, grow to the sky,
So in honor of all the sick men they flew,
With ‘stases in tribute of Movember they grew.
And then, in a twinling, I heard them all say
We stand to make a difference, day by day.
They told us of the Mo Bro’s and their fight to beat cancer,
Beating last year’s race they would fight on like lancers.
They sprang to their desks, giving a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard them exclaim, err they walked out of sight,
“Happy Movember to all, and to all a good-fight.”
